Amazon Releases Kiro: A Vibe Coding IDE Powered By Claude 4
Kiro is a spec based vibe coding IDE powered by Anthropic's Claude 4 models. It's FREE for a limited time. Is it a good enough to replace Cursor?
Amazon just released Kiro IDE. Its own development platform that’s designed to bring structure to vibe-coded apps through built-in spec-driven development by default.
The idea is to make it easier to bring vibe-coded apps into a production environment — something most vibe coding platforms still struggle with today.
But here’s what got me really interested in this new IDE: Kiro is powered by Claude 4 Sonnet.
Anthropic’s Claude 4 Sonnet and Opus are basically the GOATs of AI models right now. Having them built into Kiro is super interesting for vibe coders. It essentially applies SWE best practices to the vibe-coding workflow automatically, helping bring structure and a more organized approach to app development.
I’m super excited to try it out, so let’s see what's new it has to offer.
