Black Forest Labs Releases Flux Kontext AI Image Model
Flux Kontext offers an unprecedented prompt following, next-level image editing, and photorealistic rendering. It can render and edit images in less than five seconds for $0.04 per image.
Can we pause and talk about how mind-blowing it is that we can now use a single image to generate headshots or edit images in less than five seconds for $0.04, with all that wow factor in the result?
Black Forest Labs is taking AI image editing to the next level with the introduction of Flux Kontext.
I have so many questions on my mind right now. Some of the few standouts are:
How does it compare with GPT-Image-1 from OpenAI?
Is this the end of Photoshop?
And are we finally at the point where we can skip the whole fine-tuning process to get consistent headshots?
Let’s break it all down and try to answer these questions.
What Is Flux Kontext?
Flux Kontext is a suite of generative flow matching models that allows you to generate and edit images. Unlike existing text-to-image models, the Flux Kontext family performs in-context image generation, allowing you to prompt with both text and images, and seamlessly extract and modify visual concepts to produce new, coherent results.
For example, given a simple image of a man holding a bouquet of dried flowers, you can turn it into a fresh bouquet of roses by simply describing the changes to the AI.
Prompt: change the orange flowers to a bouquet of roses
