Google Launches Veo 3.1 and Veo 3.1 Fast
The update adds richer audio, better editing tools, multi-image reference, video extension, and smoother transitions.
Google just rolled out Veo 3.1, an upgraded version of its already very powerful and popular video model. The update introduces richer, generated audio and new options to edit video clips, such as inserting new elements and removing unwanted objects.
On top of the basic Veo 3.1 model, there’s also a new Veo 3.1 Fast model, which is basically a lighter-weight version of Veo 3.1.
In case you missed it, OpenAI released its latest video model, Sora 2, a few weeks ago. The mobile app hit 1 million downloads within five days and reached the top spot in Apple’s App Store.
Google isn’t the type to let OpenAI enjoy all the spotlight. Veo 3.1 is positioned to go head-to-head with Sora 2.
What’s New In Veo 3.1?
Given the name, it’s not necessarily a massive upgrade over Veo 3, which has only been out for a few months. Below are some of the most notable improvements in Veo 3.1 compared to the previous model:
