Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 2.5 Flash are now stable and generally available. In case you missed it, a preview version of the 2.5 Pro model was released during the Google I/O event last month.
Alongside the two stable models, Google also announced the preview of Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite — their fastest and most cost-efficient 2.5 model so far.
Gemini 2.5 models are designed to reason through their thoughts before responding, leading to better performance and higher accuracy. They feature a controllable thinking budget, allowing developers to decide when and how deeply the model should think before producing a response.
The upgraded Gemini 2.5 Pro model brings several major improvements, including:
