I Tried Grok's Talking AI Companions With NSFW Mode
Elon Musk's Grok chat app now includes voice‑powered companions: Ani, a flirty anime girl, and Rudi, a rude red panda.
Merely days after Grok AI chatbot called itself a MechaHitler and made antisemitic comments in response to user queries, Elon Musk added a new AI companions feature to the Grok app that lets you talk to a lustful anime girl named “Ani” and a homicidal red panda named “Bad Rudi.”
Ani is a young woman bearing a short off-the-shoulder black dress cinched with a black corset, fishnet tights, and a lacy choker, who responds to prompts in a slow, sultry voice, while Bad Rudi is programmed to insult users in a graphic or vulgar way.
Everyone knows how crazy Musk can be with his ideas. Just a few days ago, he designed a robotaxi test network in the shape of a phallus. So, flirty Ani and bad Rudi are no surprise.
But what’s interesting is how xAI allows itself to be this vulnerable. I remember back in 2024, Character AI, which is popular for its realistic AI companions, was accused of building a chatbot that encouraged a teen to die by suicide.
So if you’re reading this and planning to talk to Ani or Rudi, keep in mind these characters are intentionally flirty and rude. Don’t let a minor use it. Maybe not even an overly sensitive adult.
